We used to work together. One of us ran the sales team, one of us ran sales ops, one of us just stared at the numbers. VP Sales, Sales Ops, Head of Data. Three different jobs, one shared problem: closing a huge deal felt exactly the same as closing a support ticket. Maybe a Slack emoji. Maybe a bell, if IT hadn't disabled it yet.

So we built MeloDeal for ourselves first, for our own 20-person sales team, long before anyone else got to use it. Every rep got six personalized jingles: split by deal size, split again by new logo versus upsell. Because landing your first-ever customer should not sound identical to upselling an existing one. Two different wins deserve two different sounds.

On the sales floor

What actually got played

Three jingles, more than any others, kept going off on the sales floor:

  1. 1

"This Girl Is On Fire" — Alicia Keys

Reserved for a kick-ass-sales-girl whenever she closed a mid-sized new customer.

  2. 2

    Crowd clapping sound

Usually triggered on the last day of the quarter when that one rep starts reeling in all upsell deals.

  3. 3

    "Get Some Money"

The honest, no-nonsense fallback. Nobody ever hit mute on this one.

"Honestly, forget the extra commission. Just give me a better jingle."

— TOM, SALES REP

Why you should have it too

It was never meant to be a product

That reaction is the whole reason MeloDeal exists. We didn't set out to build a SaaS product. We set out to make our own sales floor a bit louder, a bit funnier, and a bit harder to leave at 5pm. Everyone else asking for it was just a bonus.

Who's behind it

Louis Masset, Paul Verine & Jens Massaert

Three people who know exactly what a pipeline looks like on a spreadsheet, and decided it should also make a sound.
